It’s that time of year again - #LoveWC Week! This year’s theme is “West Clermont: An Epic Journey Awaits” and believe me, what we have planned is nothing short of epic! We will be celebrating everyone who makes West Clermont a community where we learn, lead and succeed all this week from February 21-24.
First, we are hosting two week-long activities: our much-anticipated Spirit Week where students will have the chance to dress like what they want to be when they grow up and our Pack the Closet food drive, a districtwide initiative that is focused on giving back to the community. Students will also work together to decorate classroom doors demonstrating what this year’s theme means to them. They will record an explanation of their design, and a collection of the top videos will be shared on our social media channels. Don’t forget to like and follow us so you can stay in the know on all of our #LoveWC activities.
Our partners are integral to designing an epic educational journey for our students. We will be celebrating them through our annual PIE (Partners in Education) event on Friday, Feb. 24. Additionally, we are working with local businesses to offer an incentive to those who patronize their establishments throughout the week (hint: think discounts on food!). For a list of those businesses, visit our #LoveWC page.
We would be nothing without our incredible staff. They work hard for our students and families every day. They never give up, even at a time when so many in education are experiencing burnout and seeking other professions. All this to say, we want to shower them with love throughout #LoveWC Week. Thank you to everyone that submitted shoutouts to a West Clermont staff member (or alum, community member or organization who has made a difference in your or your child’s educational journey). These shoutouts will be delivered this Friday!
How can you help show others that you are a proud member of the West Clermont family? Display the #LoveWC logo at your home (on your front door, in the windows or with sidewalk chalk), in your car or at your business. Here is a printable poster or a coloring sheet to get you started.
#LoveWC Week will culminate with our State of the Schools, which will be presented at our Feb. 27 Board meeting. Tune in here at 7 p.m. for the live version, where we will discuss some of our latest achievements, current challenges, and our next round of community engagement events so that we can continue designing the best education for our West Clermont kids. Thank you for all that you do to #LoveWC!
